The Shitamachi Bobsleigh Project is a product that was launched by a small factory in downtown Ota-ku, Tokyo. It challenges the world for innovative manufacturing. We support the project in the aspect of the design and manufacture of the CFRP cowling. A press release for the new bobsleigh was presented at Haneda Airport on October 5. The 10th model of their bobsleigh was provided to the Jamaica team, which is famous for the movie Cool Runnings. The team aims to participate in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.

At the same time as the press release for the bobsleigh, Skymark Airlines Inc., which supports the Shitamachi Bobsleigh Project, released the special decal jet plane Shitamachi Bobsleigh Jet. The plane will fly the skies over Japan for about one year from October 6 to promote the project. On the body of the aircraft, the Japanese-style decal includes the flower symbol of Ota-ku, the Japanese apricot, our company’s logo, and many other sponsors’ names. The project started in 2011, and the made-in-Japan bobsleigh has been improved and has evolved each year. The product of their efforts will be tested soon.
