The deriving Event of “ItoP” which an innovative concept car we developed with other historic 8 EV vehicles Driving Event was held.

On March 23 in 2019, Toray Carbon Magic held the driving event for a Concept Vehicle “ItoP” with other historic EV vehicles on the course at Crefeel Koto in Shiga-prefecture. About 200 people participated in evaluating including our employees.

“ItoP” is an innovative EV concept car utilizing the new material "Shinayaka polymer" that combine toughness and flexibility, which it has the potential to dramatically improve lightweight, function, safety, and reliability, developed by the ImPACT Ito Kohzo Program.

Other special historic EV vehicles which gather together are: "Eliica" recorded a maximum speed of more than 370km in 8-wheel drive in 2004, "Sim-Will" introduced new technology In-wheel motor, "TEEWAVE AR1" a Concept EV in Toray industry, "NISSAN LEAF NISMO RC" Racing car based on Nissan Leaf, "'17 Tokai Challenge" has participated in World Solar Challenge by Tokai University team and the latest EVs, "BMW i3”, “Tesla Model X" and "Toyota MIRAI" .

The participants positively exchanged opinions for the harmonization and feasibility of future electrification and lightweight polymerization of the structural material. The event was successfully completed.
