The FIA Formula 4 was established by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) as an entry-level category for formula racing, with F1 at the top of the list. The series was launched in Italy in 2014 and then in other countries. In Japan, GT Association Co., Ltd. became the promoter of FIA-F4 and it started as a support race for SUPER GT in 2015. It has grown into one of domestic leading series, attracting many entrants by serving as a stepping stone for young drivers aiming to become top drivers, as well as a venue for advanced amateurs to show off their skills, and has achieved numerous accomplishments. The official suppliers for the second-generation vehicle (Gen2) from 2024 onwards will be Toray Carbon Magic Co., Ltd., for the chassis and other components, and TOM'S Ltd. for the engine, and the vehicle will be named MCS 4-24/TOM'S.
